About Me

Matti Luhtala Matti Luhtala

I am a researcher and designer. From background in interactive sound design, my key knowledge areas are in concept design, interaction design, user experience design, sound design and software/hardware prototyping. Through my works I study how explorative interaction can be used for enabling expression by means of aesthetic aspects of interaction. In particular, methodology and tools are studied in collaborative and playful music creation contexts.

I envision the future of interactive performance tools from an aesthetical interactive experience perspective where the user is seen as an improvisator and the interaction between the users through the digital environment a situation of play. By means of the explorative technologies, the users are able to participate in various creative activities.

I can provide design consultancy and services in research, concept design, implementation and evaluation of the final product. To gain desired design results I utilize a first-class network of established freelancers to help meet the projects needs. We are designers, artists, musicians and researchers. Our expertise covers a wide range of advanced interactive solutions for new media and ubiquitous environments. If you are interested in collaborating with us, please contact me via email or by phone.
